What is Lark Sacramento?

It’s a high-quality housing community designed especially with California State University students in mind. Lark Sacramento features a variety of spacious, furnished apartments and townhomes plus a full set of community features such as a clubhouse, pool, fitness center and more. All just minutes from campus.

Is Lark part of California State University – Sacramento?

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Lark has their own individual contract. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your contract. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.

What is included in the rent?

Each resident at Lark pays a monthly rental installment that includes:

  • Furnishings
  • Water/sewer, trash removal
  • High-speed Internet
  • Flat-panel TV in living room
  • Washer and dryer in each apartment
  • 24-hour on-site management
  • Community features – pool, fitness center, clubhouse, etc.

What size are the apartments at Lark?

The spacious accommodations at Lark Sacramento range from 2- to 4-bedroom with private bathrooms for each bedroom, except the two-story townhome which features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a private attached 2-car garage.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, all apartments at Lark Sacramento have a furniture package that includes a full-size bed (twin in double occupancy), dresser, desk and chair in each bedroom, a sofa, coffee table and entertainment stand in each living room. Plus, all residences also include a dining table and chairs. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model residences.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 23, 2023 to July 31, 2024, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Other alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent).

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Lark Sacramento also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Lark?

Your living costs at Lark Sacramento can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Lark. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Lark open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Lark are students at California State University – Sacramento. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, Lark Sacramento is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students will be roommate matched only with other non-students except with mutual consent.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Lark Sacramento has fire sprinklers, and electronic locks plus individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also on-site and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Lark Sacramento is pet-friendly, subject to limits on animals and breed. The community is smoke-free in all indoor areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at Lark?

Lark Sacramento offers complimentary surface parking. Optional reserved spaces and covered parking spots are also available for a small additional charge. Limited guest parking is also available at no charge.

What other transportation options will I have?

Lark Sacramento has a private shuttle that runs to and from campus every 30 minutes, from 7:00 am- 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday when class is in session.

Can I see a model apartment?
